One of my favorite paintings from my time painting in France, The Fountain in Sorèze captures the color, beauty, and old-world charm of this medieval village. I was especially drawn to the fountain itself — the turquoise and blue tones of the water, the sparkle and movement of the falling streams, and the way the cool colors of the fountain stood out against the warm village buildings and cobblestone surroundings.
Painted en plein air, this piece holds the feeling of standing right there in Sorèze, surrounded by history, flowers, sunlight, and the gentle sound of flowing water. For me, it is one of those paintings that instantly brings me back to the magic of being there.
